Wild at Heart : a wildlife rehabilitation centre located in Northern Ontario (Lively, Ontario) is searching for an animal care leader who is able to head up our animal care program and effectively train interns and volunteers. This person is expected to have a background in veterinary technology as well as experience in caring for wildlife.
Wild at Heart admits 800 – 1,000 wild animals annually (orphaned, injured and sick) and we care for them in an acute care centre until they can be successfully released. Veterinarians head medical and surgical programs & we admit all species traditionally found in Northern Ontario. We have very interesting training and educational programs in place on an outreach basis and during 2017, we intend to complete our on-site educational programming.
This position is full time and will start in April, 2017. The beginning rate is at 15.00 per hour and is expected to increase with experience. There is an opportunity to reside on-site if desired.
